How to read the Good Sam Rating 10/10 /10.
All three ratings categories are measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best.Less than 1 percent of parks or campgrounds receive the coveted 10 / 10 / 10 rating, which indicates superior facilities that are well maintained, clean, well-appointed restrooms and a highly appealing appearance.Campgrounds are inspected annually by dedicated RVers like you.

Completeness of facilities

10 / 10 / 10

We stayed a single night. We were greeted by two barking owner's dogs that we heard throughout the night. With 3 sites to choose from, all 3 were not level having crushed stone and the RV sunk into the rain soaked site. The connection for the sewer was not accessible to reach from the parking spot.

Road to campground is full of very large holes. Campground would be okay for one or two nights IF sewer smell didn't permeate the entire place. We could not stand to be outside and the poor tent campers were actually becoming ill. When we arrived I noticed that campers were not outdoors. That should have been my first clue
Restrooms are outdated but sort of clean.
Big surprise--you need 25 cents to take a shower.
The gentleman who checked us in was nice but was unable to give us much information
Now to my biggest complaint, (even worse than sewer smells) the female who seems to be manager or owner is rude and nasty, especially to children. She was so nasty that we left after two nights, even though we had paid for 4 My grandchildren and I arrived at the pool 30 minutes after it was to have been open.
There were two gates at the pool --one gate was locked and the second gate was standing wide open so we went inside the pool area. This woman came over to us and started ranting that we were not permitted to be in the pool unless the gates were both unlocked. When I told her that one gate was open and it was past time for the pool to be open, she grimaced and said that I should have gone to the office for permission to enter the pool and that she would ensure the second gate was locked the next morning until she WANTEDd to open the pool. She talked very rudely to me in front of my grandchildren.
Later she told my grandchildren to leave the playground and "this isn't a public place where you can just run amok and you can't be here without an adult". When I asked her why she was so rude to them, she repeated what she said to them and stomped off before I could explain that one of the children she was so rude to is 19 years old and I was sitting in the shade beside the park watching them play.
I told her I would be leaving the next morning and would stop by the office for a refund for the next 2 days. When I stopped at the office it was closed. I rang the doorbell several times, called the office from my cell phone and blew my horn; the door never opened
I almost forgot, wi-fi never works.
Good Sams needs to reconsider its rating of the campground.

Had high hopes for this camp site. Pictures on the web site looked nice. The reception cabin was a bit run down, gutter hanging off, moss growing on the roof. No camp store.

Our biggest disappointment was the pool they advertise. It had been out of commission all season. The owner did care to share this with us when we made our reservations. Feel like a little bait and switch.

The camp sites are gravel and not very level. You definitely need wood or plastic stackers to level it your camper.

The camp sites were nicely spaced - giving you privacy.

OH and here is a shocker...... you had to pay 25 cents to take a shower!!!!!!! They had a coin machine you deposit your quarter for 9 minutes of shower. You didnt need more than 50 cents, but simply the idea of having to pay for a shower caught us off guard. The bathhouse was clean - appreciate the smell of bleach over old mop water like in some bathhouses. However it was old. Toilets rocket a bit but usable.

The campground could be a keeper IF they upgraded it a bit.

The site that we parked at was not very level and the roots from the trees were right in front of the entry door. Could not move back with the room extentions. My main problem was the person who checked me in (I believe her to be the owner) did not fully understand the charge card machine technology. I was double billed for my one nights stay. I found the error 5 days after leaving the campground and made no less than 6 calls (in a 30 day period) to the same lady and was assured no less than 4 times that the problem would be corrected. One month later on my last call the lady finally offered to send me a refund check. 6 days later I finely received my refund check. If I would not have stayed on top of this situation the campground would have been $41.40 richer without providing any additional services. The campground was not worth $41.50 and what made it worse was when through no fault of mine, I spend over an hour and a half making calls and filling out a dispute letter to my credit card company for something that was not my fault or problem. We came back through this area and passed right on by, so as not to ever experience additional problems. Pricey YES and not well versed on registering a camper. With much additional training my hope is that they will understand that customer service is a FIRST and the best way to keep, as the saying goes "a happy camper customer"...

The 3 miles off the highway and deeper into the woods was not too bad... the road was paved, but fairly narrow. Once into the campground I thought it was OLD... and unkept, so appearance was pretty poor. It has no camp store and a very old rustic office. YES... the dogs barked as we got anywhere near the main building. Our site was level and close to the bathroom. The bathroom was CLEAN.... but old and needs updating. Paying .25 cents for a 9 minute shower was very unexpected!!! Especially considering the higher cost to camp here. We saw no human beings until the next morning when workers came to cut down some dead trees. A few campers were there, but I guess they did not want to come out of their campers. The swimming pool looked like it needed to be replaced, it looked like it was not operational at all.
This is a very off the road woodsy campground... I can't understand how GS rates this backwoods old campground as an 8.5! What irks me more than anything, is I paid more for this poorly maintained campground than I paid at any of the "resort" campgrounds before and after this stay.
It is quiet and we had no problems whatsoever... but we were not comfortable being there.

We almost passed this great campground up because of the prior reviews, luckily a friendly permanent camper changed our minds. The owner greeted us warmly, had a pull through spot open for one night, led us to it, and delivered firewood to our site. We had to use a set of legos on one side to level, but no issues with that because the site is nicely gravelled.
The pool looks clean and new. The playground is a classic American playground that we all grew up with. You should bring what you need, but they do have firestarters and toilet paper if you run out. The bathrooms are simple and clean, and you put a quarter in to prevent the water from running all night, if someone were to forget to turn it off.
Finally, this camp ground is in the woods, in the mountains, in West Virginia. We have a 30' TT and know how to drive a truck on country roads. If you live like a rock star in a tour bus, or can't see over the steering wheel, this is not the spot for you. If you like frogs, crickets, wind in the trees, and a good campfire, you'll find this to be a great spot for a quick or extended stay.

Only stayed here two nights but what a nice Campground. It is owned by a very nice helpful couple. The spaces are large with lots of room between other RVs. It is shady and cool with a very nice pool. The laundry room was clean with two nice washer and dryers. It is close to town for shopping and sight seeing. Beautiful park we would definitely stay again.
