How to Read Good Sam Directory Ratings

The three-number rating that accompanies each campground listing in the directory gives readers an at-a-glance assessment of a campground's amenities, cleanliness and environment.

How to read the Good Sam Rating 10/10 /10.
All three ratings categories are measured on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best.Less than 1 percent of parks or campgrounds receive the coveted 10 / 10 / 10 rating, which indicates superior facilities that are well maintained, clean, well-appointed restrooms and a highly appealing appearance.Campgrounds are inspected annually by dedicated RVers like you.

Completeness of facilities

10 / 10 / 10
The first campground rating evaluates completeness and quality of facilities. In this category we rate interior roads, sites, registration area, hookups, recreation, swimming, security, laundry, store and building maintenance.

Cleanliness and physical characteristics of restrooms and showers

10 / 10 / 10
The second rating category concerns the cleanliness and physical characteristics of toilets, walls, showers, sinks/counters/mirrors and floor. If a park achieves a full point in each of the above, it receives a star (), indicating exceptionally clean restrooms.

Also rated are physical characteristics of restrooms, including interior construction, adequate supplies/odor free, adequate number of facilities, exterior appearance and location in relation to park spaces, and interior appearance.

Visual Appeal and Environmental Quality

10 / 10 / 10

This category addresses the park's setting and site layout, function and identification of signage, overall exterior building maintenance, noise, trash disposal, litter and debris around the grounds and sites, and appearance of grounds, sites and entrance area.

The facility has a variety of well maintained, level, paved sites with plenty of shade and grass. Restrooms have private, tiled showers. The clubroom is adequate for groups, and the pool and play ground area are great. A store with sandwiches, ice cream, etc. is on property. Plenty of area activities available including some of the best wineries in the state, and great restaurants (Marlene & Glen's Dead Fly, Pub downtown, Taste for fine dining, Cocina del Oro). Pokerville Market is right across the street. Our favorite park until last 2 years when rates have become outrageous causing us NOT to return as often as individuals. Sites are OVERPRICED ($52-84) if you are NOT part of a club. 49er card ok but not big savings as just couple $$ more than Good Sam. You have to visit often to get any significant savings and you don't accumulate points with a club. BEWARE: there are so many different types of sites with different prices. The pricing doesn't make sense and is ridiculous. No weekly rates. The cancellation policy is too strict for groups (full payment, no refund) if less than a week's notice, and they adhere to it strictly.

Camped here many times. Great place for holidays like Halloween and New Years Eve.

Facility is self contained, meaning it has virtually everything within its gates to entertain, including enclosed pool.

Well managed. Easy access to groceries virtually across the street.

We love this campground and have returned numerous times. There are so many mature trees that provide a great deal of shade as well as beauty. We traveled with 2 other couples and had plenty of room outside for all of us to gather and share meals. The pools are clean and inviting. My only complaint on this stay was that a large group of adults in the adults only pool continued to allow there children into the adult pool. My compliments to the staff who quickly responded. Unfortunately, this large group continued the practice. But this is the only time that we have experienced this in our many stays at this resort. We plan on returning many more times.

We loved our stay. Nice wide level site with grass and plenty of shade. We took our dog and enjoyed the walking trails around the ponds, ducks, and campground. Very clean restrooms and close to wine tasting. We will definitely stay here again.

Spent 2 nights there. Lots of shade trees. Easy access. We had full hookups. Site had picnic table. There are restrooms with showers. Has a nice pool for adults only and another one for kids. Has a small store with a few of the basics. Ice cream and deli sandwiches. Will definitely go back
